Instructor of Industrial Engineering

Posting: FAC00259PO24The Department of Informatics and Engineering Systems at the University of South Carolina Upstate invites applications for a non-tenure track, 9-month Instructor of Industrial Engineering with a start date of August 16, 2025. The selected candidate will teach a wide variety of industrial engineering courses with possible teaching load reallocations for activities related to recruitment, outreach, and program development. The selected candidate will also be responsible for advising students and evaluating new student applications/transcripts, as well as serving on university committees and actively supporting unit initiatives. The department seeks a dynamic, motivated individual dedicated to excellence in teaching and student success.
Required Education and Experience: Masters degree in Industrial Engineering or closely related field is required by the start date of the appointment. A successful background check is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching at the undergraduate level, including adjunct teaching or graduate assistantships, is preferred.

Instructor of Chemistry

Posting: FAC00163PO24The Department of Natural Sciences and Engineering is seeking applicants for a non-tenure-track, nine-month Instructor of Chemistry with a start date of August 16, 2025. The selected candidate will primarily teach Organic Chemistry laboratories as well as Organic Chemistry lectures and Introductory Chemistry courses, depending on departmental need. Additional duties will include advising undergraduate students, serving on university committees, actively supporting unit initiatives, and may include laboratory preparation and coordination.
Required Education and Experience: Masters degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Chemistry or a closely related field is required by August 15, 2025. Candidates must have the ability to teach Organic Chemistry and Introductory Chemistry. A successful background check is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with at least one year of experience as the instructor of record in chemistry or a closely related discipline, including graduate assistantships and contingent (part-time) faculty appointments, are preferred.

Posting: FAC00005PO25The Mary Black College of Nursing at the University of South Carolina Upstate is pleased to accept applications for Professional and Tenure Track faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, depending on credentials, in both classroom and clinical areas on the Spartanburg campus. The selected candidate will participate and/or lead in scholarly endeavors and actively participate in service activities at the College, university, and professional levels. This posting is used for accepting applications for Instructor (non-tenure-track), Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor (tenure-track). Please see the minimum qualifications for specific requirements.
Required Education and Experience: A Master’s degree in Nursing is required as the minimum academic preparation for the Instructor level (non tenure-track) and a Doctoral degree in Nursing is required for Assistant or Associate Professor (tenure-track). To qualify for the rank of Associate Professor, candidates must also have at least five years of relevant post-doctoral experience by the start date of the appointment, and a record of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service that meets the College’s criteria for promotion (available upon request). Eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in South Carolina is required. Some positions may require pre-employment drug screening (policy HR 1.95). A successful background check is required.
